New 2023 Mazda 6 Sedan Review, Interior, Price – The New 2023 Mazda 6 Sedan was introduced in 2014. It offers a sporty, engaging driving experience, sleek design, and luxurious comfort levels to the otherwise mundane midsize sedan class. Mazda has done a remarkable job in transferring these characteristics to the 2020 model. The Mazda 6 has seen three significant upgrades in the past six years.
There are two options for the US lineup: the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged version has 250 hp and 310 lb-ft. The machines are connected to a six-speed automatic gearbox, which directs outputs towards the front wheels on all models. The Mazda 6 is competing against the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry as well as the Nissan Altima.
New 2023 Mazda 6 Sedan Redesign
The New 2023 Mazda 6 Sedan slim body, flowing contours, and calculated angles make it one of America’s most desirable midsize sedans. The exterior design features include full-LED exterior lighting, which provides LED auto-on/off, auto-leveling headlights, and LED taillights. Dual chrome exhaust outlets and rain-sensing windshield washers are available, as well as power-operated side-view mirrors.
Standard on the Sport is 17-inch Gun Metallic alloy wheels, while 19-inch alloy wheels come standard on all models. All other models have a power sliding moonroof and 19-inch wheels. For the new year, Signature models receive bespoke trunk lid badges.
The Mazda 6’s dimensions match the size of a midsize sedan. It shares a length of approximately 192 inches with the Mazda 6, Honda Accord, and Toyota Camry. They also share a wheelbase of roughly 111 inches and a height of around 57 inches. The widths of the six and Camry are 72.4 inches, while the Accord measures 73.3 inches.
With a running ground clearance (6.5 inches), the six rides are higher than other sedans. The Camry’s is 5.7 inches, and the Accord’s is 6.1 inches. Both the Accord’s and Camry’s base weights are significantly lighter, with the Sport weighing in at 3,443 lbs and the Signature weighing in at 3,580 lbs.
The New 2023 Mazda 6 Sedan has one of the most luxurious and visually pleasing interiors in its class. Its mature and sophisticated design with discreet details impresses. The top-quality build quality and premium materials create a truly high-quality impression. Mazda offers some of the most attractive steering wheels, with the Mazda 6’s complementing the premium cabin and driver-centric cockpit.
Although the multifunction buttons can seem overwhelming to some, they are simple to understand because the layout is intuitive and ergonomic. The Mazda 6 has many great features, including a leather-wrapped steering column, power-adjustable front chairs, and three-stage front-seat heating. However, the Mazda 6 doesn’t have the same level of spaciousness as Japanese competitors in this segment.
New 2023 Mazda 6 Sedan Engine
Two 2.5-liter four-cylinder SKYACTIVG 2.5-liter engines power the Mazda 6 lineup. It’s tuned to produce outputs of 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque in the Sport and Touring models. Variable valve timing is available, as well as cylinder deactivation technology. This allows for the activation of two outer cylinders during cruising conditions to maximize fuel efficiency.
Every other model has a turbocharger attached to the engine. This provides for outputs of up to 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. However, this is only when 93 octane gasoline is used. Otherwise, results are limited to 227 horsepower with 87-octane gasoline.
The six-speed, smooth-shifting automatic gearbox is used to service all models. It directs outputs to the front wheels. A Sport Mode is available on the gearbox that sharpens the ratios to give you a more energetic drive. The New 2023 Mazda 6 Sedan is excellent with either the turbocharged or naturally aspirated powertrain. Pulling away from traffic lights is smooth and effortless.
It is easy to get up to top speeds to merge with or overtake slower cars. Although the turbo Engine is superior in performance, it can drop at higher engine speeds. However, the naturally aspirated engine doesn’t enjoy being squeezed out as much as it would from an NA Engine.
